Samuel Hawkins

Samuel was born in 1762 in Botecourt County, Virginia.  Samuel's father was Samuel Hawkins and his mother was Anneka Jane Edwards.  His paternal grandfather was Joseph Hawkins; his maternal grandfather was Richard Edwards. He had two brothers and six sisters, named Joseph, Richard, Sarah, Jane, Rebecca Sullivan, Susan, Mary and Caroline.  He was the fifth oldest of the nine children.
