Myrtle Johnson was born on September 11th, 1874 in Sullivan County, Tennessee.  Myrtle Johnson's father was James Knox Harkleroad and her mother was Mary E. Marion.  Her paternal grandparents were Henry Harkleroad and Mehala Shipley; her maternal grandparents were James Eugene Marion and Elizabeth Moore. She had three brothers and three sisters, named James H., Daniel Wexler, Samuel Ketron, Ida E., Nancy E. and Anna C..  She died at the age of 64 on January 20th, 1939.
