The children of Ogborn are from his will dated 13 Dec 1843, Hawkins C o., Tn.
The eldest children were born before 1800. Ogburn was undoubtedl y a descendant
of Edward Hale (will 1755) of Southampton Co., Virginia. I can not s ay
for sure, but his father (Thomas) may have been the son of Edward.
Ogborn and his wife's ages are given in their sworn testimonies regar ding the
military service of Lazarus Jones of Hawkins Co., Tennessee.
Dated 19 October,1839, Ogborn and Loviney Hale both state that they a re each
above 77 years of age. Ogburn Hale attended the wedding of Christoph er Haynes and Frances Turner--abt 1793 Halifax. I wonder if Lavina w as the daughter of Lemuel Hobgood? This would have made a relationsh ip to Chris' second wife and Lavina. Frances Turner was the daughte r of John Hobgood's
daughter Phereba that married Jesse Turner. This may explain the clo seness betweeen the families...and why Ogburn was there to begin with.
