John A. Gilliam 
John A. was born in 1838 in Of, Hawkins, Tennessee. John A.'s father was John Gilliam and his mother was Mary. His paternal grandfather was Hinchea Gilliam. He had five brothers and three sisters, named James, Hinchea, Lemuel, Wiley, Benjamin, Nancy, Sarah and Susan. He was the fifth oldest of the nine children.
