Sarah Anna was born in 1858 in , Bourbon, Kentucky. Sarah Anna's father was John W. Fisher and her mother was Louisa Jett. Her paternal grandparents were James Howard Fisher and Sarah Jane Howard; her maternal grandparents were William Jett and Rachel Howard. She had four brothers and two sisters, named Darwin E., John R., Claude E., Fred H., Cora and Mary Lou Or Mollie. She was the second oldest of the seven children.-
