George was born on January 10th, 1812 in Tennessee. George's father was John D. Droke and his mother was Anna Barbara Foust. His paternal grandparents were Jacob Droke and Magdalena Shyra; his maternal grandparents were John Philip Foust and Catherine Clapp. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Daniel, Gideon, Catherine and Elizabeth.-
