Egas Gomez's father was Gomez Echigas De Sousa and his mother was Gontrode Muniz De La Tora. His paternal grandparents were Echigas Gocoy and Aragonta Suarez De Novelas; his maternal grandparents were Martin Fernandez De La Toro and Di Saboya. He had a sister named Sancha Gomez. He died about 1090.
