Her paternal grandparents were William Cope and Nancy; her maternal grandparents were Lawrence Pearson and Elizabeth Devault. She had five brothers and two sisters, named Calloway, William Anderson, Lawrence, George H., Seaborn S., Elizabeth and Nancy. She was the youngest of the eight children.-
