George Clay 
George was born in 1843 in , Bourbon, Kentucky. George's father was Henry Clay and his mother was Mary T. Chadwell. His paternal grandparents were Henry Clay and Margaret Helm; his maternal grandparents were George Chadwell and Alice. He had a brother and three sisters, named John Walker, Sarah E., Ann R. and Lettitia. He was the second youngest of the five children. He had five half-brothers and two half-sisters, and also a half-sibling of unknown gender, named Joseph, George, John W., Samuel Scott, Joseph H., Letitia, Margaret H. and Clay.-
