Giles' father was William Braose Lord Of Corbeil, France and his mother was Maud St. Valerie. His paternal grandparents were William Braose Lord Braose and Bertha Of Hereford; his maternal grandparents were Bernard St. Valerie and Maud. He had nine brothers and six sisters, named Bernard, Henry, John, Philip, Reginald, Roger, Thomas, Walter, William, Bertha, Flandrina, Loretta, Margaret, Margery and Maud. He died in 1214.
