John Brantley 
John was born in 1772 in Halifax, NC. John's father was William Brantley and his mother was Elizabeth. His paternal grandparents were Edward Brantley and Martha Pitman. He had four brothers and a sister, named Samuel, Wilson Rawls, William, Robert R. and Elizabeth P.. He was the youngest of the six children.
