Her paternal grandparents were George William TUCK and Elizabeth Betty HOLDER; her maternal grandparents were James "Meredith" ASHWELL and Sarah "Sally" Jane ELLIS. She had four brothers and a sister, named David A. , William H. , John A. , Floyd E. and Sarah F. . She was the oldest of the six children.-
