She had a brother and seven sisters, named Wilber W. , Grace Leona , Ola E. , Nettie , Sylvia A. , Lottie , Aranainta  and Anna P. .  She was the second youngest of the nine children. She had two half-sisters named Clara E.  and Ora L. .
