James LOFTIS 
James was born in 1776 in Kent Co., MD. James' father was Job LOFTIS and his mother was Elvira GOODLETT. His paternal grandparents were John LOFTIS and Sarah Burton SCULLY ; his maternal grandfather was John Jr GOODLETT. He had eight brothers and a sister, named Laban Jasper, Solomon , William , John, Lemuel , Martin , James , Sarah Sally and Rebecca. He was the second youngest of the ten children. He died at the age of 63 on March 21st, 1839 in Tyger River, Spartanburg Co., SC.General Notes
