William H. HENSON 
William H. was born in May 1750 in VA. William H.'s father was Joseph HENSON and his mother was Ann ROSSE. His paternal grandparents were Edmund HENSON and Elizabeth W. HOLDER. He had seven brothers named Charles , Lazerous II, Edmond, James , Aaron, George and Henry. He was the second oldest of the eight children. He died at the age of 66 in November 1816 in Tranel Creek, Sumner Co., TN.General Notes

Sumner County Tennessee In the name of God Amen: I acknowledge myself going the way of all _? _?.; and acknowledge this to be my last will and testament. First I will and bequeath to my loving wife Elizabeth my black mare and hogs cows and sheep for her life time house and furniture and farming utensils to have (1 or 2 sentences are unreadable on my copy) . . . more in hand to be kept for her support and to hold from the upper line of my land to the outside _? fence to the barn for her support for her life. My beloved son Josiah Henson I will and bequeath from my lower line to a _? Walnut near the cross fence above though not to have possession between the cross fence until her death. My beloved son Thomas Henson I will and bequeath from my upper line to the said Walnut above mentioned though not to hold till her death. At her death what prosperity there is left is to be equally divided amoungest the children. I choose John & Thomas Henson to settle my affairs.

The last will and testament of William Henson dec'd . . . in produced in Court probate . . .
According to Elizabeth Barker Periman, William served in the Rev. War. He received a land grant in Georgia which is dated 1785
.Notes: William, a Revolutionary War soldier, willed some of his land in Tennessee to his sons, Thomas and Josiah Henson. Thomas sold his part of this land to his brother, John Henson, in 1819, stating that the sale was not to be final "until the death of my mother." (Notes on William are from "Veterans of Wars" by Mildred Roden, published in "Ancestors Unlimited" Vol. 3 #4. Information on this line comes from Elizabeth, a descendant.)
