Ephraim was born on February 17th, 1757 in Middletown, Middlesex Co., CT. Ephraim's father was Nehemiah DOANE and his mother was Jerusha BACON. His paternal grandparents were Ephraim DOANE and Mary ATKINS . He had four brothers and five sisters, named Ebenezer, Joshua , Nehemiah , Atkins , Bethia , Jerusha, Mary, Hannah and Dorcas. He was the fourth youngest of the ten children.-
