Pleasant was born about 1815 in Knox Co., KY. Pleasant's father was Jacob COFFELT and his mother was Susanna WYATT . His paternal grandparents were Johann Philipp KAUFELDT and Eleanor E. "Nelly" RYAN . He had six brothers and four sisters, named Wyatt , Thomas W. , Daniel , James , Enock W., Henry , Milo Rebecca , Nancy Louise, Emily and Martha Mathelda. He was the third oldest of the eleven children. He died in 1900 in Benton Co., AR .-
