Abednego was born on February 6th, 1760 in Albermarle Co., VA. Abednego's father was Thomas I BOAZ and his mother was Elinor Agnes ARCHDEACON-CODY . His maternal grandparents were James ARCHDEACON-CODY and Sarah WOMAK . He had seven brothers and four sisters, named Thomas II, Edmond, Daniel, Archibald, James, Shadrack, Meshack , Gemima, Polly, Agnes and Eleanor "Nellie". He was the youngest of the twelve children. He died at the age of 67 on September 23rd, 1827 in Blount Co., TN.General Notes

Military Service:
Revolutionary War service in Continental Line and Virginia Line. 1778: Private, 1st Virginia Regiment, 5th Division, 1st Virginia Brigade, William Cunningham's Company.
Note:
"Compiled service records of Revolutionary War Soldiers files in the National Archives and Records Service of the General Service Administration, contains a jacket on Abednego Boaz. The various spellings listed in the jacket show the first name to be "Abednego:, Abednigo" and Ebednego", the surname is listed as Bozs, Baze and Boaz. One sheet show MG Baze.
This soldier was a Private in Cpt William Cunningham's Company at first, then in Lt Burges Ball's Company. both of which were commanded by Col. Richard Parker, of the First Virginia Regiment. He enlisted on Feb 19, 1778, for a period of one year. Muster and pay records show that he was at Valley Forge, Princetown, Brunswick, Middlebrook and White Plains. His last muster roll is dated 5 Feb 1779. His final pay qwas made on 19 Jun 1784 anD was received by Mr Patterson.

Residence: His name appears on a 1835 list of Virginia Revolutionary War soldiers eligible for bounty lands.
