Mildred was born about 1814 in Neslon Co., KY. Mildred's father was John BLAND and her mother was ELizabeth SHUMATE. Her paternal grandparents were Samuel * BLAND and Mary Ann UNKNOWN. She had two brothers and six sisters, named Bryant , James , Catherine, Eleanor , Mary (Polly), Lucinda, Frances (Fanny) and Martha . She was the third youngest of the nine children.-
