Peter was born in 1706 in Ft. Christina, New Castle Co., DE. Peter's father was Ericus (Errick) Joransson ANDERSSON and his mother was Brita (Bridgitta) (Palsson) POULSON. His paternal grandparents were Andreas JORANSSON and Sophia (Palsson) POULSSON; his maternal grandparents were Oele KlockerOle POULSSON and Kerstin (Christina) UNKNOWN. He was an only child. He died at the age of 82 in 1788 in , Washington, Va.General Notes
Member Old Swedes Church or Holy Trinity Church, in Wilmington, Delaware. A communicants list records the death of Peter Anderson's wife in 1738. This was his first wife, Elizabeth Dirixon. A list of the congregation in 1754 includes the family. Peter Andersson, Peasant, Cathrina Andersson, his wife, and all the children with the last, Susannah, born in 1752. Family went to NC in 1768 and to VA in 1787.

Peter Anderson was living in Orange County, N.C. in 1770 when his nameis on a list of accounts of John Brackin, dec'd. Both were from NewCastle Co., Delaware.
