Narrative

[large-G675.FTW]

Not known for sure if his spouse was Maud de Lacy daughter of Hugh de Lacy, or if it was Avelina FitzJohn. I chose Maud as the mother, etc. because it would explain how Walter & his son became the earls of Ulster.

I don't know whether this will help clarify or confuse, but the parents of
the Walter de Burgh you mention (1230-1271) were Richard de Burgh, L of
Connaught (d.1242) and EGIDA, dau. of Walter de Lacy, Lord Paletine of
Meath (1172-1241) and MARGARET, dau. of WILLIAM DE BRAOSE (1177-1200) and
Maud de St. Valerie, Lady of la Haie.
