William was born about 1160 in Buckinghamshire, England.1 William's father was Ingelram de Fiennes and his mother was Sibyl de Boulogne. His paternal grandparents were Eustace de Fiennes and Anne de Dreux; his maternal grandparents were Pharamus de Boulogne "de Tingry" of Buckingham and Matilda (de Boulogne). He was an only child.1 -
