Geoffroi II was born in 0985 in of Thouars, Vienne, France.1   Geoffroi II's father was Saveric III Vct de Thouars.  His paternal grandparents were Herbert I Vct de Thouars and Alderde de Aunay.  He was an only child.  He died at the age of 58 in April 1043 in St Michael, Leon, Spain.1
