Patience Cogswell 
Patience was born in 1751 in Washington, Litchfield, CT.1 Patience's father was Emerson Cogswell and her mother was Mary Welch Miles. Her paternal grandparents were Edward Cogswell and Hannah Brown; her maternal grandparents were John Welch and Deborah Ferris. She was an only child. She died at the age of 80 in 1831 in Staunton, Augusta, VA.1 General Notes
