Obituary, The State paper, Wednesday, July 23, 2000
Mattie Martin
Prosperity -- Services for Mattie Frick Martin, 85, will be held at 3
p.m. Thursday at Macedonia Lutheran Church. Burial will follow in
Newberry Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends 7-8 tonight at
McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. The family suggests that those desiring may
make memorials to the Macedonia Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 49
Macedonia Church Road, Prosperity, SC 29127.
Mrs. Martin, widow of Curtis Boyd "Doc" Martin, died Tuesday morning.
Born in Chapin, she was a daughter of the late Walter J. and Carrie Mae
Lindler Frick. She was a member of Macedonia Lutheran Church where she
was a member of the Netta Amick Circle of the WELCA.
Surviving are her son, Curtis L. Martin of West Columbia; daughters,
Carolyn Huffstetler of Chapin, Barbara Wise of Prosperity; sister, Nellie
F. Stoudemire of Chapin; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.
