Judith Sessoms
Newberry - Services for Judith Hawkins Sessoms, 60, of 1226 Glenn St.,
will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Whitaker Funeral Home by Pastor Ted
Hinzman. Interment will be in Newberry Memorial Gardens. Visitation
will be 6-7:30 tonight at the funeral home. The family is at the
residence. Memorials may be made to Newberry Christian Ministries, PO
Drawer 1037, Newberry, SC or Boy' Farm, O box 713, Newberry, SC 29108 or
the American Lung Association of SC, 1817 Gadsden St., Columbia, SC 29201.
Mrs. Sessoms died Tuesday, March 28, 2000 at Palmetto Richland Memorial
Hospital of Columbia. Born in Newberry, she was a daughter of Bernese
Butler Hawkins and the late R. Dudley Hawkins Sr. She was a member and
secretary-treasurer of hte Newberry Christian Ministries and former
secretary-treasurer of the Manna House. She was formerly employed by the
South Carolina National Bank and Shakepeare.
Surviving are her mother of Newberry; husband, W. Ross Sessoms;
daughters, Missy Sessoms Hamm of Newberry, Beth Sessoms Riddle, Robbie
Sessoms Mundy, both of Prosperity; nine grandchildren; five
great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother, Robert Dudley
Hawkins Jr.
