Irmo - Services for Cecil Evans Nichols Sr., 89, will be held at 3 p.m.
today in Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Irmo, with burial in the church
cemetery. Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel, is in charge.
Memorials may be made to Bethlehem Lutheran Church Organ Fund.

Mr. Nichols died Thursday, Sept 19, 1996. Born in Newberry County, he
was a son of the late Newton Arthur and Martha Seae Nichols. He was
retired from Southeastern Freightlines, was a member of Bethlehem
Lutheran Church where he was a church Starliter, a lifetime member of Mt.
Pleasant Hunt Club and a former member of Cooks Mountain Hunt Club.

Surviving are sons, Cecil E. Nichols Jr. of Virginia Beach, Va. and
Ernest H. Nichols of West Columbia; daughter, Betty Lou Nichols Bouknight
of Irmo; brothers, Emmett Nichols of Batesburg and Jay S. Nichols of
Newberry; sisters, Evelyn Connelly of Prosperity, Sadie Felker and
Dorothy Counts of Newberry; nine grandchildren; and nine
great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
