Cuthwine, killed in battle 584, son of Ceawlin and father of Cut ha or Cuthwulf, did not rule. "A.D. 577. This year Cuthwine an d Ceawlin fought with the Britons, and slew three kings...and to ok from them three cities, Gloucester, Cirencester, and Bath." ( ASC 577, 854). (See Trelawney D.
