grant to Preaux of land near Dozule, Eure, made by widow Beatrice, sister of
Gotmund Rufus de Vvascoeuil, son of Tesselin. Dated during the time of
William son of Count Robert, suggesting that William had not yet begun the
series of military achievements that enabled him to be detached from his
father in such references, i.e. before c1054-60. The grant was a yoke of land
that had come to her by a division of the land of her husband between her and
her sons. Her grant was conceded by her sons Ralph and Roger and confirmed by
Roger and Mabel de Montgomery, lords of the land granted. [Ref: KeatsRohan
