DR. JAMES WILLIAMSON

Birth: (3) Abt 1621. Isle of Wight Co., VA.
Marriage to Ann UNDERWOOD: (1,2) (3) Bet. 1651 and 16 Dec 1652. Isle of Wight Co., VA. [NOTE: Son Henry stated in 1677 that he was about age 34 years, so would have been b. ca. 1643.]
Death: (2) 8 Dec 1656. Lancaster Co., VA.

(3b,4b) 1650, 22 May: (3b) Mr. James WILLIAMSON was granted a patent on 1800 acres on Rappahanock River, on the north side, beginning &c. nigh the mouth of a creeke called Milleck Creek, VA. County location not given. By a memo it appears that 300 acres of this patent was by virtue of one granted to Richard BENNETT 2 Mar 1638. On the same date, he was also granted 1150 acres on Rappahanock River on the north side. (4b) Mr. James WILLIAMSON (WILLIAMS) was granted a patent on 1800 acres on Rappahanock River, on the north side, beginning at a marked cedar tree nigh the mouth of a creeke called Milleck Creek, running N.E. by E. on the land of Wm. UNDERWOOD, & to the mouth of Willing Creek, being above the land of Antho. JACKMAN. For the transportation of 36 persons, including Chrper (?)[Christopher] MEDCALFE. 300 by vertue of a patent granted to Richd. BENNET 2 Mar 1638 & now deserted.
(3) 1653, 15 Nov: John SHERLOCK was granted a patent for 200 acres on Rappahannock River, adjoining a tract of land formerly surveyed for James WILLIAMSON, and lying on a creek known by the name of Totaskey, Lancaster Co., VA.
(3c) 1656, 3 Sep: Ambrose MEADER purchased from James WILLIAMSON the lower 1,000 acres at the 1800 grant on Willing Creek (Totuskey Creek). The neighbors here besides WILLIAMSON included BRYER, William UNDERWOOD, Abraham MOORE, Thomas ROBINSON, and William DENBY from the Isle of Wight colony.
(4a) 1656[/7], 23 Jan: Rappahannock Co., VA Court ordered Mr. James WILLIAMSON'S estate inventory and appraisment by Tho. GOODRICH, Andrew GILSON, Will JOHNSON, Hum. BOOTH.
(3a) 1671, 7 Mar: William MOSELEY delivered to Mr. Wm. BALL Jr., Mr. James WILLIAMSON's patent for 1,800 acres of land dated 22 May 1651, and the UNDERWOOD patent to Margaret and Mary WILLIAMSON for 882 acres, dated 11 Mar 1662.
(3a) 1673, 20 Mar: Capt. Wm. BALL, Gent., and Margaret his wife, a daughter and co-heir of Mr. James WILLIAMSON, and Anthony BRIDGES of Westmoreland, attorney for John ROSIER, Gent., of Westmoreland, and Mary his wife, daughter and co-heir of James WILLIAMSON, sold to Charles DACRES, Clerke (Minister) of Westmoreland, 450 acres, part of a patent for 1,800 acres granted to Mr. James WILLIAMSON, dec'd, etc. They guaranteed title against themselves and the heirs of William WILLIAMSON, also dec'd.
