King Aenys Targaryen I

    Aenys I was the son of Aegon I and Rhaenys Targaryen. He became king of the Seven Kingdoms after his father. Despite having at least one son, Jaehaerys, he was succeeded by his notoriously brutal half-brother/cousin Maegor I, who had served as the Hand during his reign.
    
    According to a non-canon source, Aerys was a weakling and ineffective ruler; he was tall like his father, but softer, slender, weedy and dreamy.  Aenys had lilac eyes with curly, shoulder-length hair; he also sported a mustache and beard. His crown was of gold, elaborate and much larger than his father's.
