Benjamin Gahan

Benjamin was born on February 6th, 1857 in New Town, Geelong,Victoria,Australia. Benjamin's father is Benjamin Gahan and his mother was Eliza Elizabeth Collingwood. His maternal grandfather was William Dixon Collingwood and his maternal grandmother is Phoebe Lovell. He had a sister named Thomasina Phoebe. He had three half-brothers and a half-sister, named Alexander Collingwood Charlton-de, Edward Charlton-de, George Henry Charlton-de and Agnes Sophia Hue de Saintonge. He died at the age of 46 on August 8th, 1903 in 110 Armstrong Street, Ballarat, Vic.. He was buried on August 10th, 1903 in Ballarat Cemetery, Ballarat, Vic.,Aust..

General Notes
- Original Birth Certificate states Ben Gersham Charlton b. 6th february 1857, New Town, Geelong, Victoria, Australia.
  The Birth Certificate of Thomasina Phoebe Gahan states she was born in Geelong in 1854.
  Both have the same Mother.
  Thomasina's certificate states that her Father was Benjamin Gahan.
  Interesting to note that by the time Ben married in 1880 he was calling himself Ben Gahan and stated on the Marriage Certificate that his Father was Ben Gahan.
  Interesting to note that in the Will of Eliza's Father, William Dixon Collingwood of 1846 her refers to his daughter as Eliza Elizabth Collingwood now Charlton.
