John was born in 1610 in , Bristol, Gloucester, England.1   John's father was John Cary and his mother was Elizabeth Hereford.  His paternal grandparents were William Cary and Alice Goodall.  He was an only child.  He died at the age of 71 on October 31st, 1681 in Bridgewater, Plymouth, Massachusetts.  He was buried in Bridgewater, Plymouth, Massachusetts.1 1
