Catharina was born in 1832 in Aruba.  Catharina's father was Anna Margaretha Blasse( Blasius) and her mother was Carel  Ponsen (Ponson).  Her paternal grandparents were Johan Casper Blasius (Blasse) and Anna Pietertje Daal. She had five brothers and a sister, named Johannes, Charles, August, Albert, Frederick and Anna.  She was the third youngest of the seven children.  She died at the age of 83 in 1915 in Aruba.
