Dorothea was born on November 12th, 1798 in Curaçao.  Dorothea's father was Nicolaas Frederik Maack (Craneveldt) and her mother was Geertruida Craneveldt (Hoyer). She had three brothers and two sisters, named Johannes, Christoffel, Nicolaas, Maria and Jannetje.  She was the third youngest of the six children.  She died at the age of 80 on April 26th, 1879 in Curaçao.
