Barend van Blerk (Ben) 
Barend was born on November 3rd, 1888 in Cradock. Barend's father was Barend Johannes Vorster van Blerk and his mother was Alida Goudina Erasmus. His paternal grandparents were Petrus Jacobus van Blerk and Magdalena Zacharia Vorster; his maternal grandparents were Philippus Lodwicus Erasmus and Elizabeth Hendrina (Erasmus). He had two brothers and two sisters, named Phillipus Lodewicus, Jan Barend, Elizabeth Hendrina Merryfield and Rachel Dorothea. He was the second youngest of the five children. He died at the age of 72 on August 10th, 1961.General Notes
The family had moved to Rhodesia in 1909 and he had met and married in 1912. He died in Bulawayo on August 10, 1961
