    Elizabeth E. Spinney, 75, died early Monday morning in Sanford.
    She was a daughter of Ammon B. and Ruth Austine Sperry of Eliot and attended Eliot schools. She graduated from high school in 1944 and from Nasson College with a degree in education. On Sept. 17, 1949, she married Earl W. Spinney and they moved to Alfred.
    Mrs. Spinney worked as a home economics and substitute teacher, as well as for the Watertown school district.
    She was an active member of the Alfred Congregational Church. For 15 years she played organ for the church and was invited to be a guest organist in many other area churches.
    She held many church offices, voluteered for many activities and was junior choir director for many years.
    One of her greatest loves was the involvement with the Alive gospel singers.
    Mrs Spinney also voluteered as a 4-H leader and camp cook.
    Surviving are her husband of nearly 50 years of Alfred; two daughters, Karen A. Currier of Raymond, New Hampshire, and Sybil J. Howe of Kennebunk; and four grandchildren.
    Visiting hours will be 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Heald Funeral Home, Springvale. A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday at Alfred Congregational Church with the Rev. Katherine Fiske and Iverson officiating. A private burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
