Helen was born in 1813.1   Helen's father was Alexander Pickering and her mother was Janet Brown.  Her paternal grandparents were William Pickering and Janet Anderson; her maternal grandfather was Lawrence Brown and her maternal grandmother is Jean Jamieson.  She was an only child.  She died at the age of 76 on July 16th, 1889.1
