Mary's father was Henry Dow and her mother is Elizabeth March.  Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Dow and Margaret England; her maternal grandparents are March and Farrar. She had five brothers and two sisters, named Thomas, Thomas, Henry, Edward, William, Lucy and Frances.
