Harlow, known as Harley, was born on December 10th, 1900 in Lynn, Massachusetts.  Harley's father was Harry Lee Dow and his mother was Susie May Hathaway.  His paternal grandfather was William H. Dow and his paternal grandmother is Augusta; his maternal grandparents were Benjamin Hathaway and Flora E.. He had three brothers named Walter, Harry and Ralph.  He was the oldest of the four children. He had four half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Clarence, William, Asa, Earl, Lillian and Ethel.  He died at the age of 54 on June 25th, 1955 in San Diego, California.
