Charlotte was born in April 1839.  Charlotte's father was Meshech S. Ackerman and his mother was Mary Ann Dow.  His paternal grandparents are Ackerman and <Unknown>; his maternal grandfather was Newman and his maternal grandmother is Betsey Knowles. He had six brothers named George, James, J., Charles, John and Augustus.  He died at the age of 19 on January 12th, 1859.
