Walter FitzAlan 
Walter was born in 1114. Walter's father was Alan FitzFlaad and his mother was Aveline de hesdin. His paternal grandparents were Flaald FitzFlaad and Domina Norton; his maternal grandparents were Arnulph de Hesdin and Emmelina ?. He was an only child. He died at the age of 63 in 1177.Death Notes

General Notes
He was granted the hereditary office, the greatest under the Scottish Crown, of High or Great Steward of Scotland. With it came vast estates. About 1163 he founded the Paisley Priory for Cluniac monks and was made a lay brother of the Benedictine Order. In 1164 he repelled the invasion into Renfrewshire by the Islesmen. He died in 1177.
