Jan was born on August 30th, 1811 in Amsterdam, Holland.  Jan's father was Carel ROUW and his mother was Anna Elisabeth Reijneke.  His paternal grandparents were Carel ROUW and Seytje Koerse; his maternal grandparents are Jan Poulus Reijneke and Antje van Doesburg. He had four brothers and four sisters, named Carel, Jan, Jan Lourens Koerse, Willem, Carlina, Annas, Karolina and Karolina.  He was the second oldest of the nine children.  He died at 7 months old on April 12th, 1812 in Amsterdam, Holland.
