Thomas was born in 1772 in Of Hunting Creek, Rowan, Nc.  Thomas' father was John H. MCGUIRE JR and his mother was Mary BRANDON.  His paternal grandparents are John MCGUIRE SR and Anna; his maternal grandfather was George BRANDON and his maternal grandmother is Marian (Mary). He had a brother and seven sisters, named George, Sarah (Sally), Sidney, Nancy Ann, Ann (Nancy Ann), Mary Or Mary Ann, George and Sally.  He died at the age of 31 in 1803.
