David was born in 1084 in House of Albanch, Albanch, Scotland.  David's father was Malcolm "Canmore" Coluim Mac Donnchada  III and his mother was Saint Margaret de Wessex.  His paternal grandparents were Duncan Mac Crinain and Aeflead Sybil Fitzsiward; his maternal grandparents were Edward  "the Exile" de England and Agatha. He had a sister named Matilda.  He was the younger of the two children.  He died at the age of 69 on May 24th, 1153 in Carlisle, Cumberland, Scotland.  His burial was in Dunfermine, Fifeshire, Scotland.
