George Williams

George was born on March 17th, 1809 in Gibson, Indiana. George's father was John Clark Williams and his mother was Henrietta Johnson. His paternal grandfather was Simon Williams; his maternal grandparents were Arthur Johnson and Lucy Harmon. He was an only child. He died at the age of 83 on October 18th, 1892.

General Notes
- In 1833 walked to Vincennes and bought 40 acres of the Williams home place at the rate of $1.25 an acre. In 1836 he bought an aditional 40 acres at the same priced and lived the rest of his life there.
  He was a very religious man and helped to organize Old Union church. Meetings were held in his home from 1845 to 1848. He and Elijah Saulmon donated the land that the church would be built on.
