José's father is José Eduardo Russián Balán and his mother is Graciela León.  His paternal grandparents were José Eduardo Russián Márquez and María Emilia “Mimía” Balán Russián. He has three brothers and two sisters, named Mireya, Emilio, Gonzalo, Luisa and Chichita. He had two half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Oswaldo, Jesús, Haydee and Mimía.
