  • Assisted immigration to Australia 1950
    Applications for an assisted passage to Australia under the UnitedKingdom and Australian Government agreement, made on form LEM2, withmedical examination and xray report forms attached.  The form ofapplication is completed by the applicant in the United Kingdom andreturned to the Chief Migration Officer London.  A medicalexamination is then arranged, and if satisfactory, the applicant isinterviewed and a recommendation is made as to suitability as amigrant.  Documents are forwarded to the state office of theImmigration Department in the state which the migrant intends toreside at the time of departure of the successful applicants.  Onform LEM2 the applicant is required to show: full name, postaladdress, nearest railway station, date and place of birth if not bornin the United Kingdom, date of arrival, nationality, marital status,height, weight, dependants to accompany him, name and address of nextof kin, full particulars of civilian employment, proposed occupation,financial position, and a series of questions regarding proposedaccommodation and travel.
