Janet was born on June 24th, 1803 in Dallas, Morayshire and her baptism took place on June 29th, 1803.  Janet's father was John Gordon and her mother was Elizabeth McIntosh. She had three brothers and two sisters, named Thomas, John, James, Margaret and Elizabeth.  She was the second oldest of the six children.  She died at the age of 83 in 1886 in Hill of Edinvale, Dallas, Morayshire.
