August was born in 1882.  August's father was Hans Krimses and his mother was Juula Krimses (Sassijaan).  His paternal grandparents were Bernhard Krimses and Eva Krimses (Possul). He had a brother and two sisters, named Jaan, Leena and Maali.  He was the third oldest of the four children.
